As a land grant institution, Colorado State University is committed to providing access to higher education. In collaboration with CSU’s Office of Admissions, the Fostering Success Program hosts an Independent Student Visit Day annually for high school students from foster care, unaccompanied houseless, kinship, legal guardian, orphan, ward of court emancipation and other independent backgrounds.

Youth joining for this no cost Independent Student Visit Day will engage in the following opportunities:

  • CSU Campus tour
  • Getting admitted to CSU
  • Independent college student panel
  • Financial assistance breakout  
  • Housing & campus support
  • Free lunch with current independent students

Kevin Keefe donates CSU scarves for care packages

As a donor funded program, FSP values both monetary gifts and tangible donations, which contributes to a huge impact for independent students.

FSP loves highlighting donors. Interested parties can contact Andrea Fortney, FSP Director at andrea.fortney@colostate.edu if they would like to donate around 110 of the same item (such as a snack, socks, or hygiene product). Donors are invited take a photo with the items and share the picture with Andrea so we can feature their incredible generosity.
