Coaching

FSP’s Director, Andrea Fortney, and Coordinator, Melissa Henke, are trained in Western Michigan University’s Fostering Success Seven Life Domains; a coaching model designed to support students from Foster Care though their path in higher education. By using the domains to break down complex life challenges, coaches not only help students find areas of strength and areas of need, but act as a kind shoulder for students to lean on and connect them with campus/community resources. Andrea and Melissa can have hundreds of coaching sessions a year, from small check-ins to frequent in-depth appointments.
